Bulk Water Sales from Fire Hydrants
The City of High Shoals provides bulk water access to approved contractors, businesses, and service providers that are not connected to the City's water distribution system.
Current Rate: $50.00 per 1,000 gallons
This service is intended for commercial and industrial use and differs from standard utility service provided to residential, small business, and commercial customers connected to the City's water system.
The bulk water rate reflects:
- Use of City-owned water infrastructure
- Administrative oversight and account management
- Water system maintenance and operational costs
- Monitoring and protection of public water infrastructure
- Risk associated with hydrant operation and system use
Improper operation of fire hydrants can result in pressure fluctuations, water quality concerns, equipment damage, and costly repairs to the City's water distribution system. For this reason, all hydrant users are expected to follow approved operating procedures and accurately report water usage.
Bulk water usage is provided on a reporting basis and requires cooperation from users to ensure accurate billing and protection of public infrastructure.
For information regarding bulk water access, account setup, or hydrant use requirements, please contact City Hall.

The City of High Shoals provides water to our customers.
We are considered a "distribution" system. We purchase our water from Lincoln County and disperse to our customers.
The city has completely updated the main lines and updated/replaced all water meters throughout the city(2023-2024) and are gearing toward replacing outdated lines down River Street.
Engineering is underway for this project.
All Water Quality Reports are posted in the "News & Notices" section of our website.
High Shoals must take samples of the water daily, monthly, and quarterly for State mandated tests. These tests are sent off to a lab. No news is good news!
Each year we create a Drinking Water Report. These are posted under News & Notices and under LINKS....
